Japanese Professor and Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jawa Timur Establish Achievement Collaboration
Surabaya, 15 August 2023 – Professor Nobuo Funabiki from Okayama University, Japan, visited the Faculty of Computer Science at the East Java "Veteran" National Development University in a promising academic collaboration. During his visit, Professor Funabiki discussed with the Dean, Deputy Dean, and Study Program Coordinator regarding plans to implement Adjunct Professors in courses in the Data Science Study Program.
Adjunct Professor is the latest innovation implemented by the Faculty of Computer Science. The discussion held with Professor Funabiki discussed the plan's implementation in detail, which is expected to positively impact curriculum development and improve the quality of learning at the Faculty of Computer Science.
In addition, this cooperation also includes a collaborative research program announced at the meeting. The Faculty of Computer Science will send one of its best lecturers to continue PhD studies at Okayama University, starting from the Data Science Study Program. This step is expected to deepen academic collaboration between the two institutions and open up opportunities for further cooperation in computer science and data science.
Not only limited to discussions and research programs, Professor Funabiki also gave guest lectures, which the lecturers and students of the Faculty of Computer Science eagerly awaited. This guest lecture, "Throughput Control Method for Concurrently Communicating Multiple Hosts in Wireless Local-Area Networks," explains important concepts in wireless local networks relevant to current information technology developments.
This guest lecture is also open to general students interested in understanding the topic and wanting to know more about MEXT scholarship opportunities and life experiences in Japan. Professor Funabiki provided inspiration and valuable information for the guest lecture participants.
